Item to expire XXX days after purchase

Is it possible to have items that expire after a certain amount of days when purchased? Id like this as im having a number of small items in stores for members to buy - sush as coffees, sweets, magazines etc etc

....and id like the item to expire from their inventory after a set number of days. From browsing the forums, setting an expiry time seems to be a prob.

But it has been done in the SMF Arcade Shop pass - so i was wondering can anyone combine both two items, ie a test item & the arcade pass??

someone made a mod like this long ago that i use on my forum  for smfshop can't remember the name tho.

i think it was a mod for smfshop + smfarcade that made pass's or something that expired maybe take some of that code and modify it for items?

Exactly what i was thinking. But i havent a clue how to do that. Anyone got an idea?
