Shop misreading CHMODS
« on: January 03, 2008, 06:09:24 am »
I get to the Upload OK, but when clicking Apply the Mod, I get there error
Code: [Select]
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!
I mod'ed all folders, from public_html/SMF on down to 777 and still get the error. Even backed down and tried  755 and 644
There is a temp file there and the files have been unzipped from the SMFShop_3-0_Fresh_Install.zip" file.

Is there a glitch?

SMFShop doesn't read the CHMODs, SMF's package manager does. Like the error says, did you CHMOD the Packages directory to 0777?
Does it prompt for FTP info?

I have the same problem! Under the error
Code: [Select]
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!there is question for FTP info to set the CHMODs... and when I type my login and pass then shows text "No such file or directory", but I know that the directory is there!
What should I do?

PS sorry for any mistakes, I'm not from english-language country ;)

Make sure the path is correct. it should look something like eg:
/public_html/.....
or
/httpdocs/....

And not like eg:
/home/......./public_html/
/var/www/vhosts/....../httpdocs
