A new idea - for a new rep system using shop

this may be silly or people may really love it....but i personally think its a good idea, so here it is:

Main Idea

A rep system based on the amount of money you spend in the shop.

Ofcourse the money itself represents the amount of posts you make  - unless uve been stealing credits or gambling like me lol.

So this is what happens:

In the post profile is an IMAGE ITEM composed of small "pips" or "stars" or "bullets"

In the database a new "rep coloum" is added to keep record of your changes ofcourse

This will not be linked to Karma - cos honestly i think karma system really sucks anways :p

These pips increase or change in color to reflect change after you buy new stuff in the shop.
- Wether for yourself
- wether to give others gifts

giving people items via ITEM TRANSFER should not affect your "reputation" - but rather its the amount of money u spend in the shop since this would be a little more realistic representation of how active you are.

So for items ideas:
- unique items -> very very expensive and only 1 or 2 in stock at most but give a huge gain in rep for uying it
- rare items --> expensive but give a large boost to rep
- magic items --> have random effect, can lessen or increase
- mysterious items ---> have random effect, can lessen or increase
- medium items --> give medium boost to rep
- low level / cheap items --> give a small boost to rep
- Dafault items ---> like flag, change style, etc, give rep depending on price

so what do u guys think of this idea?

it will add a whole new "game" to your forum since people will want to post more and more so they can make more money to buy more things
And this way having a lot of "items which dont really do anything - decorative items" will also make sence like:

- Crystal ball of Grand Magi - Price: 400 - Rare Item - Increases Rep by 50
- Steel Sword - Normal Item - Price: 30 -  gives 2 rep points
- Titanium Sword - Normal Item - Price: 80 -  gives 5 reps

so on and so forth...ofcourse the above example only uses the "diablo style" items which include swords, armour, ec etc
But people can easily modify the titles to make it into for example: Harry Potter Theme with stuff like that
Or even Hello Kitty theme or whatever depending on the type of images you have and your ideas

Alternative version: - a little more complicated

Instead of Pips we could also have a small "person" figure in the persons profile
Now there would have to be a LOt of images made for this one and can only be themed for individual styles like "diablo" or "harry Potter"

So you go buy clothes for your person - who is initially dressed in their underwear lol - giving people more incentive to start posting and earning credits

If you buy a coat - the image changes to a person wearing that coat
There can be many types of coats - green - silk- red - cotton

There can be body armour
swords
hats
and a lot of other items

i know it must be complicated but i know its do-able

so i really hope u guys like it and sooner or later someone will take it up since even though i get ideas but im the worse ever at coding :p

Seems like it wouldn't be hard for someone who felt like it to code, though I am not totally sure what you are getting at. Why not make it so that you get rep points when you use the items? Also is it at all possible to lose rep?

yes actually thats a better suggestion - using items like magic potions etc
losing reps would only be if a person uses a mysterious item which can have a random effect
OR
if another user uses a weapon against you

but anyways the idea is a complete spaghetti - so lets forget it lol
