General SMFShop Discussion / Easy way to deduct points?
« on: February 01, 2007, 10:22:15 am »
I have SMF shop on my site and I use it to encourage members to post and participate in as much as we have going on as possible.  Each topic and new post receive points automatically of course, but I even keep track of members who upload to our gallery and "win" competitions etc and I add their points manually.  At the end of each month, the member with the most points wins a small prize from me.

To make it fair on other members, and to those who may not chat as much  ::), I would like to deduct an amount of points as a one-off thing, most likely only once a month.  If I enter in the negative amount when "sending" someone points, it doesn't allow me to do that (and says I'm stealing  ;)).

Any ideas?  Thanks!

Hi,

Am a little confused and just need to clarify a couple of things please...

Have previously installed Shop 2.3 and went to upgrade to 3.0, but using the package manager, i get the warning / error message that there would be an install problem : "Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/Display.template.php     Test failed".

I am using a different theme.

So, do I edit the display.template.php file as stated in the first post of this thread (find and replace code) and then I should be able to upload upgrade?

Should I manually upgrade via FTP?

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere... just point me and Ill look.

Many thanks.

I'm still trying to work out how to best use this mod.

Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Is there a site "showcase" here that i can see this mod in action? (apart from Daniel15.com).   ::)

General SMFShop Discussion / What files do I need to modify?
« on: December 11, 2006, 05:54:55 am »
Not too experienced with coding etc...

I want to add some things in the admin and that users see... currently by default admin and users see "Per New Topic" and "Per New Points" and the points they get.  I want to add what other things they get points for (even though most of these things I will add their points on manually).  So, for example, I may want to add points for "Entering Challenge" and "Upload to Gallery".

Have figured out though one file I need to code is ShopAdmin.template, but what others?

Any other help or links to a tutorial or something would be great.

Thanks.

Not sure if this is how it is supposed to look as Im still fiddling around with some settings etc...

Could someone please check for me?

If you view this link (as an example)

http://scrapyourselfsilly.com.au/forum/index.php?topic=320.0

It shows (on the left of the posts)

32.00 credits $

View Inventory

See how it shows the same info twice?  Is that right?

O  h!

The shop link that is there, just links back, or is supposed to :P, to my main site.  It wasnt modified for anything to do with your Shop-MOD.  I've had that there for yonks.

Thanks.
