Items / Making my own items

Could someone please tell me how I would make my own items appear in the shop? I can make images and I know where to put them, but do I have to code every item? If so, could someone tell me how to do that? They will serve no greater purpose than the rock item that comes standard installed on this hack. It's just an item people will have that does not do anything.
