I know that feeling. After initially working with phpbb I've found SMF to be a lot cleaner and by far better executed.

Such a shame...mebbe we'll just have to drag them back :knuppel2:.

SMF is by far the best system under VBulletin (I think, I think SMF us the best but I've heard good things from VB) and this Shop Mod was/is the only Shop mod that actually worked for me without requiring too much recoding (if any).

Thanks for your reply to my thread and the revival of an idea that would be otherwise consigned to oblivion.  ;)

I'll have fun discussing the idea if anyone chooses to do so.

Requested additions / Using items in Posts

Would it be possible to set up a modification or addition where the user could click a drop down list of their items when they are going to post. They would be able to then select the item and place it into their post. (or just click on it and it activates a switch of some kind)

This would in turn deduct the item from the inventory and return a statement at the end of the post that a) The item was used and b) that it has been depleted.

Essentially, this would mean that items could be used within posts and since I run a role-playing forum I think it would be a great addition.

General SMFShop Discussion / Re: Reset Everyone's Credits?

I'm not sure if you can edit everyone's unless you edit the database, but you can find individual members  and then reset each one to zero manually.

Installation Problems / Re: Unable to add alter or view items

I'm also getting some rather surprising feedback when trying to upload items now.

550, 530 on the FTP, permission denied and directory doesn't exist respectively. However it only appears on the Sources/Shop/ section of the entire site.

This means I can't upload items, I can't change the chmod and I'm pretty much stuck. Anyone have similar problems?

Installation Problems / Unable to add alter or view items
« on: February 08, 2009, 09:38:48 pm »
I am using SMF 1.8, and Shop Mod 3.0. A complete default install (except with the addition of a Dice Mod)

Problem: I am unable to add, alter or view other items. I cannot change the currency. I have heard rumors you are supposed to be able to view this in the Administration Panel. This is not happening in my installation.

Are there any known solutions to this.
