Here’s a complete breakdown of the top candidates for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year race and who is most likely to finish well down the stretch.
It Dave Robinson Authentic Jersey began as a one-horse race.
Kareem Hunt was as dominant as any rookie in recent NFL history through the first quarter of the season. Game by game, we were speaking of the Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back in historic terms. Twitter was abuzz with his stats, and NFL Network was filled with his hype. But just like the team Authentic Mel Blount Jersey that drafted him, he hit a productivity wall of sorts, whether his fault or not, and it wasn’t long before other horses started coming into view.Coming into the final three-game stretch of this NFL season, it’s clear that the race for Offensive Rookie of the Year is going to be a very interesting one, with so many worthy talents showing up late in the season. As pass happy as the NFL has become, these last couple years have proven what having a dangerous running back can Marcus Easley Womens Jersey do to a team’s offense and overall fortunes. Here’s a complete breakdown of the NFL’s OROY race and the chances they have to win the overall award. Can Kareem Hunt finish what he started? Has he already been passed by Alvin Kamara? Is there another rookie or two actually primed to pass both of them?Let’s take a closer look

As expectations for Adam Warren Jersey Jay Ajayi continue to grow following his Addison Russell Jersey record-breaking 2016 campaign, there Andre Dawson Jersey appears to be fewer opportunities for Anthony Rizzo Authentic Jersey second year running back Kenyan Drake. Adam Gase has Ben Zobrist Youth Jersey expressed his desire to increase Ajayi’s workload to 350 carries in 2017. The additional carries would be a near 35 percent increase from last season’s 260 carries. Ajayi is also a much improved pass catcher which Billy Williams Womens Jersey means he’ll be relied upon on third down as well. The Dolphins spent a third-round pick on Drake in Blank Kids Jersey the 2016 NFL draft, but Ajayi is firmly entrenched as the Dolphins’ starting running back. Gase acknowledges that Drake and Ajayi have different skill Carlos Zambrano Womens Jersey sets. However, getting Drake to be Clayton Richard Authentic Jersey a better overall running back is Gase’s primary objective. “We got to be ready to go if … Jay [Ajayi], he David Ross Youth Jersey takes a lot of hits. He’s basically our workhorse,” Gase said. “The rest of those guys have to be ready to go at the drop of the hat. They have to be able to do everything. For us to have two guys backing Jay up that do have a strength in the passing game for sure. “But they are good runners. It’s more about getting consistency and understanding the importance of every little detail. Sometimes when you’re a backup, you can lose that, and it takes a professional to do the job right consistently. Really, that’s his [Kenyan Drake’s] biggest challenge is being a consistent guy for us.” It is evident that the Dolphins view Drake strictly as a backup and return specialist at this juncture, but his talent suggests he should be more involved in the offense. If the Dolphins are wise, they’ll find ways to get Ajayi and Drake in the game at the same time this season. One way to get Drake in the game would be to allow him to be the fourth wide receiver in the offense and place him in the slot in 2×2 alignment. The Dolphins would also be well served placing him in the backfield with Ajayi in a split back formation. If Gase and offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen would like to get creative, they could also use a three-back formation featuring Drake and MarQueise Gray as the upbacks with Ajayi still in the game as the deep back.

The free-agency period has been good one way or another for every NFL team. Hence, it’s time to take a look at the positives in our newest series for End Zone Score. Which newcomer to the club was the franchise’s best offseason move and why? We got things started with the 2016 last-place teams in the eight divisions. You can get caught up on the entire series by clicking right here. We are currently looking at the clubs that finished third. And that means the Cincinnati Bengals are in the spotlight. LB Kevin Minter This offseason, the team watched a number of notable players either leave via free agency or were given their walking papers. Marvin Lewis’ club lost left tackle Andrew Whitworth and right guard Kevin Zeitler to the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns, respectively. And defensive tackle Domata Peko left for the Denver Broncos. On the other hand, veteran Rey Maualuga was cut loose by the team. It’s also worth noting that Karlos Dansby (Arizona Cardinals) and Trevor Roach (retired) moved on as well. The former led Cincinnati in tackles in 2016. Hence the addition of Kevin Minter was basically an essential move when it comes to the linebacking corps. Yes, the team still has Vontaze Burfict (when available) and consistent mike man Vincent Rey. And second-year pros Marquis Flowers and Nick Vigil are still in the mix in terms of the outside spots. But Minter brings a lot more experience to this group. He finished third on the Cardinals with 81 tackles this past season. He also added 3.5 sacks and a pair of passes defensed. Keep in mind that the Cincinnati Bengals slumped to 21st in the league against the run this past season. Minter hopes to help in this regard in a big way.
