SMF Shop install problem

Hello. I am trying to install smf shop 3.0 on my forum running smf 1.1.4. When I try to apply the mod, however, a nonworking ftp thing pops up. Will someone tell me what files need to be writeable so that I can do it by hand?

We are having a problem as well.  When we upgraded to
1.1.5 it went poof. Gone. My co admin reinstalled
the code and it's there in the admin panel but
it doesn't show on the board. We can't buy inventory nor
does it display under avatars. What are we doing wrong?
