Plans for official SMF 2 release???

I know there's an unofficial release, (http://www.daniel15.com/forum/index.php/topic,1782.0.html) but it seems to have been abandoned.

What is the estimated time frame of an official release?

I can't find anything in these forums to indicate any release at all.
