I would like to say that this seems like a great mod but I cannot find the necessary string of code to change if you have a custom theme.
I went to admin->current theme->edit template.php and I cannot find the right string.
Can you help me?

You need to edit Display.template.php to show the information next to posts. The best way to do so is via FTP. Browse to Themes/[your theme name], and edit the Display.template.php file. See
http://www.dansoftaustralia.net/smfshop_wiki/Themes
for information on how to do this.
To add a Shop button to the menubar, you need to edit its Index.template.php file. Buttons for some themes are available from
http://www.daniel15.com/forum/index.php/board,11.0.html
.
