Can't add shop item images

I tried adding more images in Sources/shop/item_images/ but it won't let me add anything, I get a Permission Denied error when trying to upload things via SmartFTP. How to solve this?

Ok I just found out it's not just the shop items images that I can't add, I can't also add the new shop items themselves like the CSS Display Name, etc. I tried to chmod 777 the shop folder but even that I'm not allowed to do. How to solve this?

I don't know if it helps but in the past i had trouble with permissions but i used the 'make all files writable' option in the SMF admin.

Go to  admin - packages - options then in the clean up permissions area at the bottom select  'all files are writable' then try adding your stuff.

Didn't work, tazpot. I chose that option and was asked for the FTP passowrd. I typed it correctly but got this error:

Some of the files the package manager needs to modify are not writable. This needs to be changed by logging into FTP and using it to chmod or create the files and folders. Your FTP information may be temporarily cached for proper operation of the package manager.

550 /httpdocs/forum: No such file or directory

I think that means that the file  'forum' needs to be chmoded which you will have to do fia ftp or cpanel if you have it.

It still didn't work, I still get an "Operation not permitted" error when trying to upload files via SmartFTP. The thing is it only happens when I'm uploading files related to the shop mod. All the other times I don't experience any problem uploading any files.

Hmm, this definately sounds like a permissions error.
Do you have cPanel access? If so, try changing the permissions using cPanel's File Manager...

I'm using SmartFTP and the permissions for /forum is already 777.

However I can't chmod 777 the Sources/shop folder and everything under it. I get an "Operation not permitted" error. And Again  I have this error only for this mod, I've got no problem with other mods.

I get this problem if i try to chmod a file when using coffeecup and normally i have to use cpanel to sort it. Maybe try another ftp prog or cpanel as Daniel said (if you have access to it)

That did it! I tried to change the permissions via Usermin and it worked. Thanks guys!

I am having the same problem. I tried using my host's file manager (http://000webhost.com) and even that can't change the permissions.. I need to do this because i spent hours making those images
