Kanye West, Pharrell, Raf Simons, Nigo, Jeremy Scott, and others are all doing their best to reinvent the adidas catalog at the moment through their collaborations. But that doesn’t mean that the brand has turned their back on the most beloved of their past silhouettes. Case in point is this

The
Adidas Superstar online is a sneaker that’s been a little slow on the special editions lately. Sure there was that atmos “Glow Snake” version, but that’s a route we’ve seen them take a couple of times before so it wasn’t exactly a mind blower when it showed up. What might blow your mind though is this version of the shoe, known as the adidas Originals Superstar 80s Cage, that encases the sneakers in some extra support struts on the side panels.

Adidas Superstar Deep Blue Stock is one of those glow in the dark sneakers that looks way different in the night than it does in the day. In regular lightning you can just barely make out the snake textures, but when the sun falls you’ll find a detailed reptilian pattern that’s highlighted by the luminescent treatment. This isn’t the first time these two entities have been down this path either, just last year we were treated to another incarnation of the adidas “Glow Snake” theme.
adidas Originals gave us not one but two golden Shelltoes for the Chinese New Year celebration. This one is from the broader Three Stripes CNY 2014 pack (i.e., not the ‘Sport Pack’), an
Adidas Superstar fashion in an ornate horse pattern silken golden upper with metallic gold leather Stripes. It’s an especially clean look sandwiched between a white leather lining and sole as you’ll see in more photos after the jump, so let us know how these compare to the crop of Year of the Horse sneakers about to leave the starting gates.
The
Adidas Superstar White Black Gold Comfort is a sneaker that pretty much every Three Stripes fanatic has somewhere in their rotation. The good news is that the brand is bringing them back in 2014 in some particularly clean colorways, all of which are on display here. The sneakers, landing in Spring/Summer, feature a straight white build on the body, accenting colors on the stripes, and white appears to be faux vintage look across the bottom.
